This lesson is about how to paint a foreground with depth whilst keeping it slightly out-of-focus. I've brushed in all the darks with lots of colours. I used straight Red Gold, Ultramarine and dark greens and feathered them off into each other whilst wet. We'll be working dark to light.

One of my students has finished her donkey. It's amazing how all the donkeys have their own individual looks and characters. All of my students are developing their own unique style of painting and it clearly shows up in the donkey painting. This is Maree Whitlam's donkey - untitled as yet. You feel as though you could reach out and touch him. It is very life-like.
