12th Lesson - Adding Detail With Plenty Of Colour

I added the flowers in the foreground straight from the Permanent Rose tube of paint.  They were dabbed in lightly with a round brush, adding white to the rose as I went.  I'm keeping this foreground slightly out-of-focus so that the viewer looks past it into the main part of the painting which is the creek itself.

3rd Lesson - Teacups

We are continuing with the shadows on the tablecloth.  Remember that shadows have colour, only more muted with soft edges.  The shadows on the left of the teacup and teapot have a bit of reflective light giving them a more orangey hue.

2nd Lesson - Teacups

We started with the background using Cobalt and Permanent Rose.  I wanted the background very soft and subtle to avoid competing with the teacups.  I then smoothed out any brushmarks with a soft, dry brush.  I've started on the shadows on the tablecloth with a purple hue and feathered this off into the background.  The purple mix has a tiny bit of Lemon in it to slightly grey it down.
