Lesson No.8 - Painting In The Darks First

So, we are now starting to get some depth into the water by placing very dark darks.  We also want to feather this colour into the pink reflection.  The trick is not to make the pink too muddy.  At this stage, the pink reflection is dry, so where the wet dark meets the dry pink, I have used only a small amount of paint.  Then dabbing lightly with a darker pink I am able to feather it off into the wet dark.  When it is dry again, I will go back and apply some cleaner highlights and probably more dark lines to accentuate the ripples in the water.
