Lesson No.9 - How to Paint that Moody Atmosphere

When painting this sunset, keep in mind the tranquility and moody atmosphere that you want to convey.  The waves are small and dark with little detail, which suggests the peaceful scene before you.  Remember also that the light is behind the waves, so it would be hard to see too much detail in the front of the waves anyway.  So, to continue on, I repainted sections of the waves in the Ultramarine Blue and Cadmium Red Light that I have been using so far, and then adding a dot of white to the mix, and using this to suggest some detail in the waves.
