Lesson No.12 - Filling In The Detail

Now that the colour has been washed in, starting from the head, I'm going to go over the front flamingo in detail.  The light source is above, so shadows are underneath - they were made with a mix of Geranium Lake, Ultramarine Blue and a dot of Lemon.  The highlights on the top of the head and neck are a reflective light Cobalt Blue.  Remember to dab for texture and where there is a hollow or dent, it will be darker.  Leave the black bill till last and yes I used black (something I rarely do).  Haven't put the eye in yet but have made it fairly dark around the socket.
